I have to say, the new improved Google translation tool is shockingly effective, at least in languages where sentence structure and grammar are pretty similar. I won’t pretend I didn’t just go back and read my recent entries in various other languages. It was oddly mesmerizing, and I don’t think just because I’m an egomaniac. Mostly I’d say that I sound less aggressive. Maybe Nathanael West was right that violence in America is idiomatic.
